Managing resource attributes

SECollab allows you to manage resource attributes. They are customisable attributes that can be attached to comments and/or findings and/or reviews. They help you add more data than what is normally possible on those.

Creating resource attributes

Resource attributes are available in the project administration, under the Resource Attributes tab. To create a Resource Attribute:

• Click the "+ Create a new resource attribute" link
• Set a title, then a name starting with a lowercased letter
• Add a description if needed
• If it needs to be mandatory, check "required"
• Choose the types which you want to apply the resource attribute on
• Select the type of the resource attribute in the list
• Enter the default value you want for the attribute
• If you select an "enumeration" type and want to make a default value click on "default" next to the value

The type "date" has no default value. The creation date of the resource with the attribute attached to will be the value of the attribute.

Resource Attributes' types

A resource attribute can be:

• an integer
• a string
• an html text
• a date
• a boolean
• a single-select enumeration
• a multi-select enumeration

Resource Attributes' association to types

Once created, you can link a resource attribute to a supported type: review, comment and finding.

Once associated to a type, you can drag and drop all attributes so they are displayed in your order of choice.
