Changing the HTTP session management cookie name for WebSphere

Change the HTTP session management cookie name if the OSLC Connect for Windchill, PLM and CLM are installed in the same WebSphere Application Server or are behind the same reverse proxy, such as IBM HTTP Server (IHS).

About this task

You must change the HTTP session management cookie name if you install the connector in the same WebSphere Application Server as CLM or the connector is behind the same reverse proxy as CLM. This is because both the connector and CLM use the same JSESSIONID cookie in the HTTP session management. CLM sometimes resets the cookie when you log in to CLM, which causes the connector to lose its session in some linking scenarios.

Procedure
  1. From an administrative console, click Applications > Application Types > Websphere enterprise applications > oslc_windchill.war.
  2. Under Web Module Properties, click Session management.
  3. Select Cookies.
  4. Change the cookie name, for example, type OSCLWINDCHILLSESSIONID.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Save the changes to the administrative configuration.
