Roundtrip Sub-architectural Model Elements to Polarion
This guide provides instructions for roundtripping Sub-architectural Model Elements from Enterprise Architect to Polarion using ReqXChanger.
In the simplest case, ReqXChanger only roundtrips linked elements to a Requirement.
This means that sub-architectural Elements, like Attributes, Operations, Ports, Statemachines are not roundtripped if they are not linked to a Requirement.
The option Roundtrip Sub-architectural Model Elements allows the roundtrip of these sub-elements.
Roundtrip a selection of sub-types
To roundtrip a selection of sub-types:
- From ReqXChanger, select the Enterprise Architect Options... button.
- Select the menu Mode > Roundtrip Model Elements > Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Set the Type Names option. In our example, we set
Activity.
This roundtrips the Sub-Activities (first level) of the linked Model Elements:
Roundtrip a selection of sub-types recursively
To roundtrip a selection of sub-types recursively:
- From ReqXChanger, select the Enterprise Architect Options... button.
- Select the menu Mode > Roundtrip Model Elements > Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip Recursively.
- Set the Type Names option.
This roundtrips the Sub-Activities recursively of the linked Model Elements:

To roundtrip a selection of sub-types recursively, and group the elements by type:
- From ReqXChanger, select the Enterprise Architect Options... button.
- Select the menu Mode > Roundtrip Model Elements > Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip Recursively.
- Set the Type Names option.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip Category.
This roundtrips the Sub-Activities recursively of the linked Model Elements:

To roundtrip Sub-architectural elements, whatever their type:
- From ReqXChanger, select the Enterprise Architect Options... button.
- Select the menu Mode > Roundtrip Model Elements > Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip Sub-architectural Model Elements.
- Select the checkbox Roundtrip All Types.
