Enable OSLC Configuration Management

To enable OSLC Configuration Management, locate the corresponding panel in the Windchill product or library page. Carefully read the instructions to make sure you understand the implications.

With OSLC Configuration Management, the Windchill Parts of the product may be exposed in OSLC configurations. Your team can choose to add these configurations to global configurations, which can span applications. For more information about global configurations, see IBM's Global Configuration Management.

• After you enable global configuration management, you cannot disable it.
• If you integrate with other OSLC tools, you must understand how they link to your Windchill application. In other tools, versions of artifacts might not exist in multiple configurations, so enabling configuration management might cause unexpected behavior. To decide whether to enable this capability, see Considerations before enabling configuration management.
• For information about reporting and configurations, see Reporting on data in configurations.

Now that you understand everything about global configurations, you can click on the button to enable configuration management. If configuration management is already enabled on the product, you will not see any button and you will have an information message instead.
