Configuring Linking Settings

To reach the Linking Settings page, log-in as an administrator then click OSLC Connect > Linking Settings in the menu.

The OSLC Linking Settings administration page allows an administrator to customize the linking experience for Windchill users.

Simplified Creation Dialogs

The simplified creation mode replaces the standard OSLC experience for creating Windchill Change Artifacts. Users will be presented with a reduced set of fields in the delegated UI, then be given the chance to continue the creation workflow directly in Windchill. The set of fields for each type of Change Item is defined as follows:

Change Notice: Name and complexity
Change Request: Name
Problem Report: Name

Change Management Types

The table presents the hierarchy of types and soft types for Change Notices, Change Requests, and Problem Reports. It allows the administrator to decide for each type whether it will be available for:

Selection and Creation: remote applications will be able to create OSLC links to existing Windchill artifacts, or to create a new Windchill artifact to link to.
Selection Only: remote applications will only be able to create OSLC links to existing Windchill artifacts.
None: remote applications will not be able to create OSLC links to Windchill artifacts. Likewise, Windchill users will not be able to create OSLC links to remote applications.
