Dragging issues from Atlassian Jira

This page is aimed to Atlassian Jira users wanting to use the Dropping dialog for linking issues of other Jira instances and to let them know which elements can be drag/copied and drop/paste on it, as well particularities existing with the application itself.

In Jira, most issues being a link (or texts being able to open the issue page) can be dragged and dropped into the Dropping dialog, common cases are:

None of above views support multiple selection, so drag and drop issues must be done one by one.

On an open issue page, users can drag and drop the corresponding issue key above the Summary field or the full URL in the browser's addresses bar. They can also open the context menu (right-click) for the issue key just commented (and also for all elements in above list) and select the option to copy the URL of the link [1]. This context menu technique also works for result elements of any search page in List View for columns Key and Summary.

Global Configurations Compatibility

There is no difference between using a Global Configuration on the source Jira issue or not, the same elements discussed above are suitable to be drag and drop or copy and paste in the Dropping dialog. This is due the nature of the Jira application, as Change Management projects do not involve Configuration Management.
