Limiting version links by enforcing project area associations

If you want to limit the available Jira projects to select from when adding a version link, you only need to follow the steps below.

Preconditions:

Procedure:

  1. Open the target GCM project area admin page.
  2. In the Associations section, click Add.
  3. In the Add Association dialog box, select the Jira application.
  4. Complete the authentication process if required. [1]
  5. Make sure the Uses - Configurations option is selected on the Associations menu.
  6. Select a Jira project and click OK.
  7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 to add more Jira projects.
  8. Click Save.

By completing this procedure, the next time the Add Releases dialog be open, only the Jira associated projects will be listed on the From combo.

One of the advantages of using this approach is that the precondition of having the Jira consumer with a functional user is not required any more.
