The OSLC Connect for Jira Cloud Forge App contributes an OSLC Connect panel to the work item view, on the right side of the page, below the Details area.
Expanding the panel shows an area that allows navigating to the Links Explorer, which is the central place to review Jira work items and manage OSLC links. Navigating from this panel preselects that Jira work item in the Links Explorer and allows adding or removing OSLC links.
The panel also supports drag and drop of remote resources. Using drag and drop of URLs is a convenient way to initiate OSLC links creation. Dropping a URL in that panel navigates to the Links Explorer and automatically opens the Link creation wizard. You then just need to validate the resolution of the target resource and link creation.
A Jira work item can have multiple types of remote links, of different nature, some of them corresponding to OSLC link types and directly contributed by OSLC Connect for Jira Cloud.
Adding an OSLC link is not realized directly in Jira Cloud but in the Links Explorer, which, as seen above, can be accessed using the OSLC Connect panel.
Deleting an OSLC link must also be initiated from the Links Explorer. Jira Cloud enables deleting remote links directly from the work item, but does not allow OSLC Connect for Jira Cloud to control the deletion behavior. If deletion is triggered directly from the Jira work item, the link is only deleted locally and the potential back-link is not deleted in the OSLC Remote Application. To edit OSLC links safely and maintain consistency across OSLC applications, remember to always use the Links Explorer to manage OSLC links.
