MDWorkbench Overview

MDWorkbench is a model-driven engineering development environment that enables designers to:

• retrieve information
• transform it
• share it with other applications
• generate artifacts from it

The goal of MDWorkbench is to be a productivity enhancing tool used to maximize the value of models produced from any application or data source. The environment provide the capability to build:

• Domain-Specific model-based tools
• Source code and text generators
• Model transformers

Prerequisite

MDWorkbench is an Eclipse-based environment and Java code may be used in MDWorkbench projects. As a prerequisite of this documentation:

• You should be familiar with Eclipse concepts: project, views, editors, perspectives, etc.
• If you intend to develope rules and services, you should have basic knowledge of Java concepts: packages, types, methods, etc.
