Importing and Exporting projects
Importing projects
-
Browse to the server administration page under the Projects tab.
-
Click on Import Project and select the archive of the project to import.
If the project doesn't exist, a new project is going to be created.
Important: If the project already exists on the server, the existing project will be replaced by the project to import.
-
Once you have selected the project to import, you can run an Impact analysis to determine:
- if the project already exists and warn the user
- the number of new resources that will be created
- the number of resources that will be deleted or updated (if the project already exists)
- the number of conflicting users
A checkbox allows the administrator to determine if he wants to link users of the project to import with existing users on the server or create new users on the server (with a generic name to avoid user conflicts).
-
The administrator launches the import on clicking the OK button (the Impact analysis is not mandatory).
Note: users created during the import will get their user id set as their default password
Exporting projects
-
Browse to the server administration page under the Projects tab.
-
Move the mouse over the project to export, and click on the
Export
button in the Actions column.
-
Click OK to launch the export.
-
The project will be exported as a zip file. That zip file will be attached as the result of the export activity.
This activity will be available on the Activities page of the exported project, in its default stream.
Exporting a project will export all the data contained in the project (Designs, Reviews, Comments, Links, Users, Activities, Reports, Configurations, etc.)
