Formatting Legends

Overview

There is no support in the Rhapsody API for this so it cannot be automated. Applying formatting is optional.

Formatting Custom Views

To apply formatting when a Custom View is applied, right-click the Custom View and select Format. This opens the standard Rhapsody formatting dialog where you can choose the formatting options for the various artifacts that could be in the Custom View:

Formatting Legend Views

To apply formatting to a view, highlight the name of the view inside the Legend on a diagram, then use the formatting toolbar to apply a style. If you use the same style as in the Custom View formatting, this can provide a visual key to users of the diagram when the Legend View(s) are applied:

Using an All View

Since Custom Views by their very nature tend to filter out elements, it may be helpful to include an ‘All’ view which does nt apply any formatting and includes all elements to prevent them from being filtered:
