The Rhapsody user interface for a flow (or item flow) only allows a small subset of model elements to be added as flow items. This helper overcomes this limitation, allowing any model element(s) to be added, removed and re-ordered all in one intuitive UI.

When launched, the helper presents the current list of flow items:

Adding Flow Items

To add new items to the flow/item flow, first select them in Rhapsody (multiple select is supported) and then click Add from Rhapsody

Sorting / Filtering

Clicking a column header will sort by that header (ascending). Clicking again will sort descending. Clicking again will remove the sorting. The table may be filtered by typing a regular expression into the filter field. Note that these options do not affect the order of the flow items in Rhapsody and are simply there to make reading the flow items easier.

Navigating

Double-clicking a flow item will navigate to it in Rhapsody. In addition, a context menu is available:

Re-Ordering Flow Items

To re-order items on the flow/item flow, drag them up or down using the grab handles (you can drag the rows if you wish but the grab handles are a convenient way without accidentally checking one of the boxes). Note that re-ordering only works if there is no sorting / filtering applied). Select multiple items using the shift / control keys to drag in bulk.

Removing Flow Items

To remove items from the flow/item flow, select their checkboxes and then click Remove Selected.

Arguments

Arguments are a special case since they cannot be ‘selected’ in the model (such that the currently selected element can be read through the API). To add arguments as flow items, first select a single operation or event/ event reception and then click Add / Remove Arguments to switch to a dialog that shows the arguments.

In the argument dialog, selecting checkboxes adds the arguments to the flow/item flow, clearing checkboxes removes them (you can also remove them using the main editor panel).
