Find Model Element

Overview

Locates a model element by its full path or GUID.

Operation

The helper is applicable to All for convenience so you may launch it from wherever you are in the model. In addition, if you use Rhapsody 10x or above then you may also use the Power Pack Toolbar or Tools menu. Usage is simple, paste either a GUID or the full path to a model element in the appropriate field and click Find:

When searching by full path you may optionally specific a base type, but this is usually not necessary as the tool will check for all possible types at that location.

Report Tab

In addition, there is a Report tab where you may obtain the guid or full path of an element by first selecting it in the model and then clicking the appropriate Report button. This adds the value to the clipboard as well as in the text field in the UI.
