Displaying the Generated Map

The generated XML may be displayed in the output window using the Show Map XML helper:

When launched the helper first locates the owner of the generated XML by checking the selected element. If launched from an Editor Configuration Map, then it looms for a <<generateMapTo>> dependency to locate the Profile / Stereotype to which the map was generated. If launched from a Profile or Stereotype, then it uses that element.

Next it obtains the name of the XML Map Property, which is of the format [ProfileName].ModelElementEditor.ElementMap

If the owner is a profile, then the name of the profile is used. If the owner is a stereotype, then the helper looks up the tree until it finds an owning profile.

The content of that property is then displayed in the Rhapsody Log window, for example:
